Responsible Gambling Policy

1. What gambling is, and what it is not

Every game on this site has a house edge. Over enough bets, that edge decides the outcome, and the outcome is that the player loses. This is not a warning about misuse. It is how the games work, and it is true of every game here, including the ones whose results you can verify yourself.

Gambling is not a way to make money, and it is not a way to recover money you have already lost. If you are betting to win back a loss, the edge is working against that too.

2. The controls we offer, and whether they are enforced

This section distinguishes what the software refuses from what is only advice. That distinction is the whole point of the section. A control that is described but not applied is worse than one that is absent, because you would rely on it.

• TAKE A BREAK, OR EXCLUDE YOURSELF: ENFORCED. You can stop your own play for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, a year, or indefinitely. While it runs, this account cannot place a bet on any game on this site. On slop.com we will not issue it a new deposit address, and on slop.us it cannot buy Gold Coins. This is refused by our servers, not hidden in the interface.
• EXTENDING A BREAK: ENFORCED, and immediate.
• SHORTENING OR CANCELLING A BREAK: NOT POSSIBLE. There is no button, there is no support process, and there is no request we can grant. A break can only be made longer.
• WAGER AND LOSS LIMITS: ENFORCED. You can cap what you stake, or what you lose net of wins, per currency over a daily, weekly or monthly window. A bet that would breach a binding limit is refused by the wallet itself, before any money moves.
• DEPOSIT LIMITS ON SLOP.COM: ENFORCED, BY SETTING MONEY ASIDE. We cannot stop a transfer that is already on a blockchain, so a deposit limit here works the way it does at the largest operators. The deposit is credited, the portion above your limit is set aside where it cannot be played, and it is released automatically as the window of your limit frees up. The set-aside amount is shown on your security page.
• TIGHTENING ANY LIMIT: ENFORCED, and immediate.
• RAISING OR REMOVING A LIMIT: DELAYED. The change waits 24 hours, and a tighten requested in the meantime cancels it permanently.
• SESSION TIME LIMITS: NOT OFFERED. Where your security page offers an activity reminder, it tells you every so often how long the site has been open in that browser. It does not stop play and it does not sign you out.

3. The rule behind those answers

A change that REDUCES your exposure takes effect immediately. A change that INCREASES it waits, or does not happen at all.

That is why a break can be extended in one click and cannot be shortened by anyone. It is not friction for its own sake. The moment you most want to cancel a self-exclusion is the moment it is doing its job, and a control you can undo at that moment is not a control.

It is enforced structurally rather than by a rule somebody could forget. Breaks are recorded and never edited, and the one that reaches furthest is the one that applies. A request for a shorter break is accepted, recorded, and simply has no effect.

4. The honest edge of the deposit limit

On slop.com, deposits reach this site as transfers on a public blockchain, sent to an address you already hold. Nothing we run is in the path of a transaction that has already been broadcast, and no operator can refuse one.

What we enforce instead is what happens AFTER the money arrives. The portion of a deposit above your limit is credited but set aside, where it cannot be staked, and it returns to your playable balance automatically as the window of your limit frees allowance. During a break we also refuse to issue you a new deposit address at all.

The one thing a deposit limit here cannot do is stop you sending the money in the first place. If you need that, blocking software on your own devices (section 6) is the control that actually stands in that path.

5. Signs worth taking seriously

People who develop a problem with gambling tend to recognise several of these first.

• Betting more than you decided to, or for longer than you meant to.
• Betting to win back what you have lost.
• Borrowing money to bet, or betting money set aside for something else.
• Hiding how much you play, or lying about it.
• Feeling you have to bet to feel normal, or feeling anxious when you cannot.
• Play affecting your work, your sleep, or the people close to you.

Blocking software that prevents access to gambling sites from your own devices is available independently of any operator, and works even where an operator does not.

A self-exclusion here applies to this site only. There is no cross-operator register that would carry it to anybody else, so excluding yourself here does not exclude you elsewhere, and you would need to ask each operator separately.

7. Under-age play

You must be at least 18 to hold an account on slop.com and at least 21 on slop.us. We close accounts we find to be under age. On slop.com deposits are returned and winnings are void. On slop.us Gold Coin purchases are refunded and Sweeps Coins are void.

If a young person has access to a device you use to play, set a device password, do not save your password in the browser, and consider blocking software.
